Photography: Shooting Random Photos
72
I'm the one at any family function who always has a camera ready. I absolutely love photography! Ever since I can remember, my dad was the same way. Whether it was playing with the dog outside, birthday parties, days at the beach, anything. My memories include so many with my Dad shooting photos. I believe that's where my love for photography began.
It's awesome that something so simple as a photograph can be an item of unimaginable value. Portraits especially fall into that category due to the personal connection in that photo. What I enjoy also, is being able to collect random photos. We take for granted the everyday visuals in life, such as the palm tree out in the front yard, or the bottles sitting in the garage. Maybe it's just me, but I like to think that sometimes the simplest things force you to view them in not so conventional ways. The world behind the view of my camera is something I own. I love that with people and events I'm able to capture a slice in time that will forever be recorded. That smile, that laughter, that feeling you had at just that instant, that moment of surprise, pain, or joy. It's the satisfaction of capturing those moments in the best way possible that keep me ready and waiting to shoot.
It's just as satifying to go out on any given day and just take shots of anything around me. It's challenging sometimes to tell yourself, "Okay, walk ten feet out your door and shoot anything and everthing from that spot." Which is a great way to practice shooting from different angles. When it comes to shooting photos other than portraits, you get the opportunity to choose how you want to portray that subject. I'm no professional, just have a passion for photography, I truly enjoy my world through a lens. I love the challenge of finding different ways to record images. The everyday things that surround me work best for excersising and experimenting my view and angle of what I want to shoot.
Here are some of my random photos taken of different subjects other than people. These photos are what inspire me to go out, shoot more, and strive to be a better photographer.
